Nickelbolt Agents

Time to add another fun feature to the server! Introducing Nickelbolt Agents!

Since the Emporium has been misbehaving a little, lately, we’re slowly turning the heads of some of Azeroth’s heroes and perhaps making a few enemies. In RP, you’ll often find that villains are totally untouchable due to the characters being unexpendable. I aim to fix that with the new Nickelbolt Agents!

These roaming characters will serve as lightning rods of hate for when their boss is busy hiding. They will go around, perhaps stirring up trouble or just acting casually, usually on the prowl for certain individuals that have broken goblin laws.

Just a note, but you will need MRP to recognise them by name, although I will put pictures of the currently active agents down below.

The thing is with these agents, is that they will each be given stats; health points, damage already sustained, their threat level and their ability to combat players, as well as some more snippets of character information. Since they are potentially server wide enemies, the equivalent of an RP world boss, they might seem fairly overpowered when considering taking one on by yourself, but consider that they do not regenerate their health points unless certain circumstances are met, no matter how many days pass, and that you are encouraged to acquire assistance. It is unlikely you will defeat an agent on their first encounter, as they will likely flee before taking too much damage.

Stats

Below the image of the agent will be the following stats

Health remaining
Combat Strength
Threat Level

Agent Abilties/Handicaps

Weapons/Combat Style
Agent Bio

Health Remaining: This simply displays the remaining health points of an agent. Ordinarily, a simple roll of 50 or above will result in one health point being removed during combat. When an agent reaches 0 health, they die/ become available for capture or execution.

Combat Strength: The lower the better with combat strength. Combat strength is the amount of successful rolls required by the agent to defeat a player. For example, if they have a combat strength of 2, they will only need to roll 50+ two times in order to defeat a player. If they have a combat strength of 1, they will only need to successfully attack you ONCE in order to defeat you. (This is rare and extremely powerful)

Threat Level:
A simple word based system that just gives you a rough estimate of how strong the agent is/still is. E.G. Minor Threat, Average Threat, High Threat, Extreme Threat.

Agent Abilities/Handicaps: Some agents have unique mechanics to make you approach them in different ways. Some agents may be capable of escaping with ease, some may have lightning fast reactions, making them hard to hit, etc etc. Also in this section lives the handicaps: If an agent has his arm broken, he will suffer penelties to all rolls which involve arms.

Weapons/Combat Style: Just an idea of how the agent fights.

Agent Bio: A brief character description.

Defeating an Agent

Should you defeat an agent, you decide what happens to them. A defeated agent, while still being stubborn and aggressive, will be unable to resist most emotes (unless they are just inappropriate). This means you can simply kill them or imprison them for some reason, perhaps to extract information, etc etc.

Being Defeated by an Agent

Being defeated by an agent doesn’t mean your character has to die. If you want to die, go ahead, but most people seem to be against that. You are free to flee before you get defeated if you feel your hp is getting too low, but when defeated, you should, at the very least, sustain some moderately serious injuries or fall unconscious.

Engaging an Agent

Agents can be cruel or demanding, but they will very VERY rarely initiate combat with others. Engaging an agent will rely on you, ordinarily. If you are a fugitive, this might not be the case. To engage an agent, simply do an attack emote, to which I’ll toss an invite over and commence the combat. Please try and get a healthy reason to attack them! They are not mobs that grant you exp!

Flexible Combat

I’ve been GMing events and such for some time now and am comfortable for the rules to be bent in extraordinary circumstances. I will do what I can to make these encounters as non- linier as possible. Wanna turn the agent into a sheep? Sure! Roll for the magic! You rolled 52, not bad, just a success, not a good enough roll to make him harmless. The sheep has horns! The sheep rams you! He rolls 54, but take 30 away from that because he is a sheep.

You get the picture.

Rewards

Other than the satisfaction of defeating an RP world boss, I’m not entirely sure what motives I can grant... you could gain a prisoner or a new trophy, not to mention potentially foiling the plans of the evil Nickelbolt Emporium! I can throw in some summon shells and maybe some other nice stuff too, we’ll see.

Hiring Agents!

If you’re interested in creating an agent, perhaps using an alternative MRP profile, you’re welcome to. I’ll accept and mentor anyone who’s up for it, assuming you’re willing to hand your character’s fate to another upon defeat.

DECEASED

Name: Wyatt Darksprocket
Codename: Rook

Health Remaining: 0
Combat Strength: 3
Threat Level:

Agent Abilities/Handicaps
Broken Foot: Wyatt struggles to dodge with his injury, meaning only 35+ is required to hit him.

Weapons/Combat Style: Rook uses a series of thin bladed throwing knives disguised as black feathers which cover the armour on his gauntlets and pauldrons. He is also adept in hand to hand combat.

Agent Bio
: Rook drops formality in exchange for philosophical and often cryptic monologues to unnerve or bewilder his targets. His dark personality is matched with his favoured attire and everything about him screams intimidation. Wyatt has been working for the Emporium as an agent for five years now, with an impressive 79% success rate on his missions.

Image

Name: Rexas Scopesight
Codename: Scope

DECEASED

Health Remaining: 0
Combat Strength: 3
Threat Level: Average

Weapons/Combat Style
: Scope uses an array of high powered automatic firearms when faced with hostility, favouring a large assault rifle over all others.

Agent Bio: Scope is very “to the book” with his language and public interaction. He is cold, efficient and dutiful. With above average intelligence, Scope can anticipate his target’s actions before they perform them, giving him the advantage in many combat situations. Scope has only been serving Ridrick for eleven months, but has a 90% success rate when deployed.

Image

Name: Sabel Rubycut
Codename: Ruby

DECEASED

Health Remaining: 0
Combat Strength: 2
Threat Level: Serious

Weapons/Combat Style: Ruby is frighteningly fast in melee combat, favouring short swords and daggers over everything else. She has extensive knowledge of most humanoid species’ anatomy and can quickly incapacitate most of her victims with a few well placed jabs.

Agent Bio: Ruby is often referred to as the female equivalent to Ridrick, and the two of them share a fairly close friendship. Ruby is one of the top ranked agents within the Emporium with a 100% success record over a period of eight years. Ruby is feared both within and outside of the Emporium. She has a serious but slightly quirky personality with a lack of respect for most authority, excluding her boss.

DECEASED

Name: Smashbang Fuserocket
Code name: Smash

Health Remaining: 0
Combat Strength: 4 (changes to 1 when enraged/below 5hp)
Threat Level: None

Weapons/Combat style:
Smashbang is a slugger, a brawler and a dirty fighter. Whilst he prefers to rely on his fists or the furniture he knows that he can allways fall back on his sword Bang if he ever get's into a real pinch. In times of extreme adrenaline, Smash is capable of conjuring up an enormous ammount of strength.

Agent Bio: A man of many words, even if most of them drunken slurs. Smashbang have allways lived after the adage Work hard, Party hard, Punch hardest. Smash is often deployed to intimidate or shake down stubborn targets and has an 81% success rate when deployed. He has served the Emporium for two years, and in his time there, has caused over six thousand gold worth of damage to competitor property.

Image

Name: The Nickelbolt Stone Drake
Code name: The Reaver

CURRENTLY MISSING

Health Remaining: 25
Combat Strength: 3
Threat Level: High

Weapon/Combat Style:
With its tough, rocky hide and powerful crushing jaws, the Reaver is physically challenging, but it also has a number of breath abilities to really pose a threat to its targets, including sand breath and crystal breath.

Agent Bio: Previously known as The Dwaygon, The Reaver has a taste for apples. Being brainwashed by the Emporium, the Dwaygon now believes that it shall be rewarded apples for performing acts of violence and destruction upon Nickelbolt designated targets. The Dwaygon is however, and always will be, an idiot. Its mind and will are easily to manipulate, and its instinctful and playful behaviour will often take over, rendering The Reaver useless in battle.

Image

Name: Thriz Shadegear
Codename: Shadow

Health points: 10
Combat Strength: 6 (Damage sustained from poison attacks stacks and carries over to other agent battles)
Threat level: Mild

Agent Abilities/Handicaps
Ravaging Poison: Thriz utilizes a fever inducing poison in combat, inflicting one poison damage which persists between agent battles until she is defeated and the cure is acquired. 50+ required for success.
Healing Potion: Thriz’s alchemical expertise allows her to regenerate 3hp every three days when not in combat.
Tactical Retreat: Thriz can use smoke screens to escape quicker and more efficiently than other agents. 65+ required.

Agent Combat style: Thriz have never really been a particularly good fighter. But what she lacks in skill with her knifes she makes up for with her elaborate disguises and smooth words. She uses deception and poison to weaken her targets before moving in for the kill.

Agent Bio: Thriz’s mental instability makes her valuable to the Emporium but also dangerous, resulting in her deployment usually meeting some delays. With an unreasonably one sided attraction to the now deceased agent, Smash, she is prone to fits of envy infused violence, desperate to attract his attention. With Smash’s death at the hands of Keel frequents, Thriz has been deployed to unleash a series of hateful poisonous strikes against all those who would oppose the Emporium. In Smash’s memory, she will have her revenge! Thriz followed Smash into the Emporium to keep as close as she could to him and has been under employment for a little over a year with a 43% success rate when deployed.

Name: The Broodmother
Codename: The Reaver MK2

DECEASED

Health Points: 0
Combat Strength: 2
Threat Level: Extreme

Agent Abilities/Handicaps
Augmentation: The Broodmother is blind and weaponless without electrical power. Targetting her power boxes will cause her to lose firepower and sight.
Safe Escape: The Broodmother can escape from battle fairly easily due to her wings. She needs only a 40+ to avoid being stopped.

Agent Combat Style: The Broodmother has had several large military weapons welded to her body which she can control manually. Along with her crushing physical strength and breath abilities, she can also make use of the pair of miniguns on her flanks and a twelve foot artillery canon mounted on her back.

Agent Bio: The Broodmother was stolen from her roost in Deepholm by Alariana while she was on a contract for the Emporium. During the fight for her own preservation, The Broodmother lost her sight thanks to two well placed daggers. She is blind, but with the aid of mechanical augmentations powered by boxes on her stoney scales, she is able to see through other means. The Emporium improved her intelligence vastly in their sentience manipulation labs, granting her (with the aid of yet more augmentations) the power of tactical thinking and even speech. She is being forced to serve the Emporium as they possess her eggs and young, threatening to destroy them if she does not submit to their will. With her new mind, The Broodmother has a determined and dangerous personality, but with no hate for her targets. She is easier to reason with than others, perhaps, but in doing so, you are in a great deal of danger should she turn hostile.

Image

Name: Y’slieve Duskyearn
Codename: Faceless

DECEASED

Health Remaining: 15
Combat Strength: 2
Threat Level: Serious

Agent Abilities/Handicaps

Insane:Y’slieve is quick to anger, quick to act and quick to have spontaneous and occasionally ridiculous outbursts. She is fanatical, and will fight to the bitter end.
Dependent: Agent Faceless depends on her mana pool, and is unable to act with hostility without it.

Weapons/Combat Style: Agent Faceless is adept in fighting using barrages of magical attacks. She specialises in ancient dark energies derived from the power of the Old Gods and The Twilight Hammer.

Agent Bio: Y’slieve Duskyearn was once a highly ranked member of The Twilight Hammer. After Deathwing fell, and the Old God’s plans were once again setback, she began to lose faith in their apocalyptic schemes. Having heard rumours of The Emporium’s grim work with The Iron Moon, she signed up to serve under them for free, deciding that, even if it wasn’t The Old Gods that ultimately destroyed the world, at least she would have contributed to their final goal should the goblins succeed where they did not.

Image

Name: Xingxing Noodlechoke
Codename: Noodle

Health Remaining: 12
Combat Strength: 3
Threat Level: Average

Agent Abilities/Handicaps
Pandaren Training: Agent Noodle is hard to hit, and opponents must roll 60 or over in normal circumstances for their attacks to deal damage.
Weakspot: Agent Noodle’s motives are beamed into her head from the mind control cap she wears. Destroying it with some well aimed strikes will hopefully bring her back to the side of good.

Weapons/Combat Style: Agent Noodle as a highly trained Pandaren monk, hailing from The Jade Forest. She can deliver swift, brutal strikes with nothing but her paws, but is also dangerous with other weapons, such as staves and gauntlets.

Agent Bio: Xingxing was one of the many pandaren to object to the Emporium’s appearance off the coast of The Jade Forest. Their reckless disregard for the land, and their polluting technology angered the natives, and small scale assaults were performed upon the goblins’ operations. While most pandaren escaped with only minor injuries, some were killed and one was captured. Xingxing’s mind was warped back at the Nickelbolt Facility. She was experimented on as part of gaining new anatomical knowledge and she was then deployed as a prototype weapon. Xingxing’s family suffered several deaths and some serious injuries during the initial assault, and should she ever be brought back to her senses, it is likely that vengeance or retribution would be on her mind.

Name: Sergeant Razzlechew
Codename: Chew

DECEASED

Health Remaining: 0
Combat Strength: 2
Threat Level: Serious

Agent Abilities/Handicaps

GIMME ALL YOUR VEGETABLES!:Razzlechew has discovered vegetables. While in the presence of vegetables he wants, he gains frenzy, able to act twice per round.
I LOVE THIS CARROT!: Razzlechew has found a carrot. He will spend two – four rounds eating it, before receiving double damage for three turns. This can stack with GIMME ALL YOUR VEGETABLES, depending on whether or not the carrot was the final vegetable in the area.
STUPID TURNIP!: In the presence of stinky turnips, Razzlechew’s damage is halved, and he will spend some turns attacking the turnips rather than the players. Turnips can only take one hitpoint (maybe more if it’s a giant turnip) and cannot dodge.

Weapons/Combat Style: Razzlechew is a virmen. He knows nothing except hopping, but sometimes he can hop very high and squash things good when he lands on their dumb heads. His teeth are kinda big too so he can bite things quite good until they are dead... Especially turnips, so long as they don’t go on tongue. Yuck!

Agent Bio: Razzlechew is a virmen patriarch (not a dominant female, but a sub-dominant male). He toiled many a day away, planting rakes and wheelbarrows to make rake trees and wheelbarrow hedges, but that never worked so good. One day, small green men appeared and gived him some good carrots. They said they’d give him more carrots if he did what they said. Carrots are REALLY good so it was a good idea. The green men said Razzlechew would get his own farm without stupid hozen or pandas, and he could make all the vegetables in the world. For now, Razzlechew just has to do what he told and get more carrots. Carrots are real good.

IMAGE UNAVAILABLE

Name: UNKNOWN
Codename: Mimic

Health Remaining: 15
Combat Strength: 3
Threat Level: Average

Agent Abilities/Handicaps

Mimic: The Agent is able to assume the identity of others using acquired devices and magical artifacts.
Ambush: If Mimic attacks a target unaware of his/her true identity, then they take additional initial damage.
Fragile: Mimic is less used to direct confrontation, acting as an agent of deception and espionage. He/she cannot handle her/himself well in combat, requiring a roll of 60 to hit, and players only require a roll of 40 to hit him/her.

Weapons/Combat Style: Mimic uses sneak attacks (back stabs and poisons) to end fights before they begin. If she/he is caught in an actual combat scene, Mimic will use whatever weapon is part of his/her current form.

Agent Bio: No one knows what Mimic truly looks like, or even what gender Mimic is. It's origin is unknown, but it turned up one day trying to break into Emporium records in the archive room. It gave itself up without any resistance, and offered to work under the employment of Ridrick in exchange for information, which it seemed to delight in; particularly personal information and files. It's usually seen living in the archive room, "feeding" upon the files without actually damaging them. He is only deployed as an agent in extreme circumstances.

Image

Name: Geminil
Codename: Exhumed

Health Remaining: 15
Combat Strength: 3
Threat Level: Above Average

Agent Abilities/Handicaps

Ghoul Summon: Once per round, Geminil can summon ghoul to her side, which acts as a separate target with 1 hp and 3 combat strength. These can build up and overwhelm targets. The ghouls are very easy to hit, and only require a roll of 20+.
Tormented Mind: Agent Exhumed struggles to focus on controlling her undead minions when under attack. Each time she takes damage, she has to roll 50+ to maintain control. The larger the failure, the more ghouls turn against her.

Weapons/Combat Style: Like most Death Knights, Geminil is in possession of an enchanted runeblade, which she slashes at foes with and harbors the ability to hurl it great distances, sundering all in its path.

Agent Bio: Geminil's past consists of mystery and finality. She was the last to be sent against Arthas, the last to fall to him, and the last to rise again in his service. She has no recollection of her previous life, her existence held together merely by pain and confusion. She developed a fascination with archaeological hobbies, however, which gave her some meaning. The Emporium, having a great archive of strange and considered to be long lost objects, coaxed the death knight's attention, and she agreed to offer her deadly blade as long as she could work in the artifacts and relics division of The Emporium. Currently, Geminil acts as both an agent, and a Lab Six operative.

JESERINE ANTHEA HAS BEEN RELEASED

Name: Therodoruz "Grimbolt" Sparknickle and Jeserine Anthea
Codename: Agent Grim and Agent Daughter

Health Remaining: 15 (Grim) + 12(Jes)
Combat Strength: 3 + 3
Threat Level: Above Average

Agent Abilities/Handicaps

Death Pact: Grimbolt can bind his lifeforce to that of another, meaning each damaging hit that lands upon him will also damage the one he is bound with. Their fates are shared until players down the afflicted party member with indirect damage. A roll of 60 is required to activate this
Arcane Attunement: Jeserine is an experienced mage, and can nullify the damaging effects of arcane origin spells, such as frost bolts, ice lances and arcane blasts with a successful roll of 50+
Weak spot: Agent Daughter’s motives are beamed into her head from the mind control cap she wears. Destroying it with some well aimed strikes will hopefully bring her back to the side of good.

Weapons/Combat Style: While Grimbolt favours the death, decay, the blunt and the bladed in all things combat, Jeserine is well schooled in the arts of the arcane, able to conjure up fire and other things to decimate her foes.

Agent Bio: Grimbolt was quite hasty to accept the offer of absolute power and wealth in exchange for his bloody campaign. He alligned with the Emporium, and dragged Jeserine in with him. Under orders of Ridrick, he placed a mind control cap upon Jeserine's head, breaking her will and turning her into his puppet. As the daughter of Serenial Dierwatcher, Jeserine is a valuable addition to the agents, as her emotional connections to the current number one priority target will make for interesting results. Grimbolt, acting as Jeserine's handler, has chosen to find a lair to seal her within, and will deploy her when he sees fit.

She was knocked unconscious by a sedative injected by Bumi, but later was killed during an intentional merciful overdose by the death knight, Eltharis Sunglaive.

21/11/12 -- Agent Geminil confronted Bel'fan Sunrunner in The Broken Keel. While trying to bring him down, he received assistance from Gandraya Locket, Kalthoren Snowdawn, Valeriel Nightfire, Amon(Rou) and another unnamed elf. She was defeated, and she released information about Grimbolt and Jeserine. Her precious sword was destroyed as punishment by the Emporium. She was later transported to a safer place by the resistance.

23/11/12 --
Grimbolt is granted a number of mute orcish henchmen to defend him. He follows Geminil and brings her back to the Emporium. Her memory is now being altered so that she remembers no crucial information, and she will once again be a deployable asset.

24/11/12 -- Grimbolt, under a new persona, lets his orcs loose upon individuals of The Broken Keel. No one was seriously hurt except one girl, who lost her voice in they attack when her throat was injured.

01/12/12
-- In a "negotiation" with Bumi Sweetbuns, she was able to release the mind controlled Jeserine Anthea by shooting her willbinder device, and incapacitated Ridrick for long enough to steal his kaja'mite headband. She has become the utmost priority. She must be captured.

04/12/12 -- Ridrick sends a message to Serenial, stating she must return the Kaja'band to him in order to ensure the safety of her daughter. She seeks to comply by finding Bumi.

06/12/12 -- Bumi only provides a small fragment of the band as a bargaining chip, which Ridrick reluctantly and angrily accepts in exchange for Jeserine. His mental integrity has been stabilised very slightly.

20/12/12 -- Ridrick Nickelbolt gives himself over to Bumi and her allies in vain hope that they will return his kaja'band. They refused, and took him as their prisoner.

27/12/12 -- The crew of The Dawnwalker sets sail with a host of custom weapons and destroy two Nickelbolt vessels, liberating the Purple Zone

All agents now possess the antidote to The Shadow's Poison.

Defeating an agent in a Nickelbolt Controlled zone will now reduce that zone's control level to 0%.

The Nickelbolt Emporium will not be held responsible for any harm that falls upon you following use of company merchandise.
